I would also recommend going on line and searching for sites on basic Jewish topics. One, called myjewishlearning.com is very good, you can just go there and dig in.
I think the first thing a person has to do is recognize that Judaism isn’t foreign to them. Even if it seems foreign and unintelligible that is because there needs to be a period where you adjust your eyes and ears to this way of being.
It is necessary to approach Judaism with blinders off, to see the facts as they are rather than the fantasies pushed by Orthodoxy.
I want to bless all those who are reading this to have the strength and courage to look deeply within and find that spark of Jewishness and not to give up till it is a flaming torch that will lead you to a life of individual meaning and the awesome feeling of being part of an eternal people with a mission and destiny.
